Amazon Wood Carvings

Babytime has a close relationship with the Bario Nuevo village, located outside of Leticia, Colombia.   The village of  Bario Nuevo is located on the edge of the Amazon Jungle and  has no electricity or running water.  In this village of 45 families, lives Robin Paima.  Robin has 2 kids that live at the La Aljaba orphanage, as he can not provide adequate food, clothing, and shelter.

Robin makes these wood carvings out of Sangre de Madera or “blood wood” found in the Amazon Jungle.  This wood is a very dark red hardwood.

For a minimum donation of $5, we will send you a piece of Robin’s work.  100% of the proceeds go to Robin with the goal of growing his business and lifting him out of poverty.

Check out Robin at work.
